Dr. Kofi Amoateng is a Professor of Finance at the School of Business at North Carolina Central University. He taught at University of Louisiana-Lafayette from 1986-1990 before joining North Carolina Central University in 1990. He teaches at the University of Phoenix Sperling School of Business and PhD online faculty mentor. Kofi has mentored and graduated 16. DBA candidates at the University of Phoenix from 2009-November23, 2016. Kofi received Certified Advanced Facilitation (CAF) at University of Phoenix in July 2012. Moreover, he is a visiting professor at the GIMPA School of Business-teaching Investment Management & International Finance. He has researched and published extensively in the areas of International Corporate Finance, Financial institutions, Emerging Equity markets, Financial Economics of oil, especially OPEC, and Developing-Country Finance. His research has been published in journals such as the Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Global Business & Finance Review, Financial Services Review, Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of Current Research in Global Business, Journal of Global Business, Journal of Emerging Markets, Managerial Finance, OPEC Review, and Review of Accounting and Finance. His three published papers in OPEC Review won best paper awards in 1989, 1992, and 1994. From 2003-2004, Kofi Amoateng served as the President of the North Carolina Central University Faculty Senate. In 2001, 2005, and 2006, he was an external reviewer for Ithaca College. New York. Kofi is also an external reviewer for his alma mater (University of Ghana Business School). He is an external reviewer for the University of Lagos, School of Business. Currently, Kofi serves on the following Editorial Boards: Journal of African Business, Journal of Global Business, and Managerial Finance. He also reviews manuscripts for the following journals: Applied Economics, Applied Financial Economics, Financial Services Review, Journal of African Business, and Review of Black Political Economy. Kofi serves on the Board of Directors for Duke Street Branch of the State Employees Credit Union, Durham, North Carolina (March 2015 to the Present).
