Program Description

The Department of Music offers a strong, diversified undergraduate curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Music degree. The Jazz Concentration provides academic, applied instrumental and vocal, and ensemble instruction focused on the development of knowledge and skills necessary in jazz instrumental and vocal performance. Targeted instruction is offered in jazz theory, jazz arranging, jazz improvisation, jazz composition and the history of jazz.

Requirements

Complete a minimum of 124 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU. Students must repeat "D" and "F" grades in major courses.
