Membership Requirements

Cohort Distinctions

  1. Traditional Cohort: Rising first-time, first-year student at NCCU
  2. Transfer Cohort: Rising first-year transfer student at NCCU

Membership Qualifications

  • Admitted Male student
  • 2.5 High School GPA or 2.5 transfer GPA (preferred)
  • On-campus resident
  • Proof of voter registration (if applicable)

Four Step Membership Process

  1. Interest & Application: March 1 - May 1
    1. Qualified students may express interest by contacting the office by email csp@nccu.edu, or by calling us at 919-530-7814.
    2. While expressing interest, please also request an application for membership.
    3. Complete and submit your application along with the writing sample as soon as possible to csp@nccu.edu or fax it to 919-530-6074.
  2. Interview: May 2 - May 31
    1. Each successful application will receive an interview conducted by one of the CSP academic success coaches.
    2. Each interviewee is expected to be dressed in a shirt and tie at minimum.
    3. Long distance and/or out-of-state applicants may opt to participate in a phone interview.
  3. Acceptance: May 2 -July 31
    1. The academic success coach conducting the interview will notify each student upon his acceptance status.
    2. CSP acceptance will remain pending upon receiving full admission status from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  4. CSP Orientation & Welcome
    Orientation: 2014 dates to be announced.
    Welcome: Move-In Day
    1. All accepted NCCU/CSP students will attend orientation during the designated session.
    2. All CSP students will attend the CSP Welcome Ceremony on the evening immediately following Move-In Day.

Note: To be submitted with application. No more than one page in length, using 12 point font and double spacing.
