If your organization sponsors large or small events (ie; walk for the cure, blood drive, yard sale, book or toy drives, etc.) in which you would need supplies, donations or just manpower to be a success, you may want to register your one-time event with the Community Engagement office.
Registering your event is a great way to get campus and community attention, solicit volunteers and ensure that student volunteers receive the required community service credit towards graduation.
It is easy to get started:
Register your community or university organization as a partner.
Complete the one-time event registration form at least two weeks prior to the date of your event.
The Community Engagement office will notify you when your OTE registration has been approved. You will also be notified if your event has not been approved, and we will offer suggestions for success. If your registration was denied, you may resubmit your request after you have revised the registration form.
After the event, ensure that each student who participated has completed a volunteer time sheet. As the agency sponsor/supervisor, you will need to verify and sign this document. Students must submit their time sheets to the Community Engagement office.
Note: In order for students to receive community service credit, steps 1 – 3 must be completed prior to the event.
