Community Service Leave Policy

In recognition of UNC Tomorrow goals, NCCU's mission and the State's diverse needs for volunteers to support schools, communities, citizens and nonprofit organizations, Community Service Leave may be granted to eligible SPA and leave-earning EPA staff for:

  • Volunteer activities in the schools or with a community service organization.
  • Tutoring and mentoring in the schools.

So roll your sleeves up and get started. Click on any of the links to find out more about projects and/or agencies that need your help. You'll be glad that you did!

Note: The Community Engagement office is available as resources for employees interested in finding placements for their community service leave, but we are NOT equipped to handle questions about the policy itself. Please refer all policy-related questions to Human Resources at 530-6100.

NCCU complies with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in all programs and activities (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) in the University's educational programs and activities. For additional resources or to file a Title IX complaint, visit the NCCU's Title IX webpage.
