Neuroscience Reserch

Faculty members in the JLC-BBRI Neuroscience Research Program have overlapping interests that help to form a highly collaborative, cohesive research program. In addition, distinct research interests among the team include developmental neurobiology and diseases of the nervous system that disparately afflict minority populations, such as Alzheimer's disease, a neurodegenerative disease which has been suggested to be more prevalent in African Americans and Hispanics. As a group, we use the zebrafish model extensively because of its distinct advantages.
