The NCCU Art Museum hosts several major exhibits each year, along with two exhibits that consist of works by local talents. For the 2011-12 academic year we will host the following exhibits.
“Durham’s Finest” Exhibit
January 22 – February 10, 2012
This annual exhibit, mounted in collaboration with Durham Public Schools, consists of art work from
students attending elementary, middle and high schools throughout Durham County. Each year, all the entries are judged and three winners are chosen. The winning works are then purchased by the art museum.
“Ivey Hayes: A Retrospective” Exhibit
February 19 - April 20, 2012
Ivey Hayes was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from NCCU, pursued further studies at UNC–Chapel Hill and received his Master of Fine Arts from UNC–Greensboro in 1975. The exhibit will feature artwork from various points in his life.
“New Horizons: NCCU Artists” Exhibit
April 26 - July 27, 2012
Each year our art students submit their best work to be judged the Art Department faculty. The students’ work can be seen in the Art Museum through the summer during normal hours of operation.
