If you have properly completed a FAFSA and submitted all requested documents (federal tax returns, W-2 forms, verification worksheet, etc.) to the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid prior to the priority date an award notification will be prepared and mailed beginning on April 15.
The initial award notification will be mailed to each student’s permanent address on file with NCCU. However, revisions will not be printed neither mailed.
The award letter summarizes the type(s) and amount(s) of financial aid offered for the anticipated term(s) of enrollment. The award letter can be signed and returned to our office. Also, offered financial aid can be accepted or rejected via MyEOL, where students are also expected to view updates and changes to financial aid awards. Students are required to review each award and indicate an ‘A’ for accepted awards and an ‘R’ for rejected awards.
The funds listed on your award notification will not be transferred to Student Billing until offered financial aid has been accepted or rejected and corresponding documents have been completed and submitted to the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid.
For students who are receiving awards from outside sources (church, vocational rehabilitation, foundation, civic organizations, etc.), they should be listed on the returned copy of the award notification.
An adjustment in your award package may be necessary according to your financial need and the guidelines of the program. Normally, when adjustments are necessary, work-study and loans are reduced.
If you have accepted Stafford or Parent PLUS loans, you may also need to complete promissory notes at https://studentloans.gov.
Note: Entering students will not receive an award notification until after they have been officially admitted to the University.
