At approximately 2:00AM EST, our phone system vendor received an alert about a failed hardware module within the campus phone system. As a result of the failure, the phone system performed an automated reset of the system. When then system reset initiated, it disrupted service to all campus call centers (e.g. Campus Police Communications Center, Eagle Service Call Center, Eagle Technical Assistance Center) as well as all VoIP phones connected to the system. At approximately 8:20AM EST, the phones at the Campus Police Communications Center were reset to return their operations to normal. We are working with the vendor to continually monitor the system to ensure it is currently operating at an optimal capacity.
If you have a VoIP phone and you do not have dial tone, please unplug the network cable from your phone. This will restart the phone and correct the issue.
