Job Description:
The intern will be assigned to assist a professional staff with providing computer hardware, software and technical support to various departments and computer labs on campus. The intern will be responsible for the following scope of work duties:
Qualifications:
Student must have awareness of the PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software. Student must have awareness of the PC Industry’s current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technology. Interested applicants should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems. Should have the ability to research and understand technical documentation, and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources. Ability to perform tasks such as providing operating systems and application software installations and upgrades, virus protection and eradication.
Must be currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.
Requirements:Applicants must be available and willing to commit at least six (6) months for an internship.
A minimum 2.5 grade point average is required.
Student must provide a resume, and a current unofficial transcript (proof of good academic standing).
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Job Description:
The intern is responsible for providing excellent customer service to lab clients, and responsible for the following scope of work duties:
Qualifications:
Student must be able to troubleshoot basic problems with software and hardware and must report major issues to Lab Administrator for repairs. Student must have basic computer knowledge, and have strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be confident in knowledge of Windows and/or Mac/OS and common problems. Must be a self motivated problem solver, and student should have a desire to learn new technologies. Student will be responsible for monitoring lab activities and ensuring that lab and university policies are enforced and followed.
