To remain in good academic standing, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or greater. A student whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.00 is not making satisfactory academic progress and will be dismissed from NCCU. This policy has been established to enable students to complete their undergraduate work within a reasonable period of time. Students expecting to graduate in eight semesters (four years) must average 15 to 16 completed hours each semester.
If a student is dismissed due to unsatisfactory academic progress, he or she is permitted to appeal once by submitting an Academic Progression Appeal form that includes a typewritten explanation of extenuating circumstances and documentation of those circumstances. The appeal goes to the University College Dean for a final decision. The full Academic Progression Policy can be found online at http://www.nccu.edu/formsdocs/proxy.cfm?file_id=1923
