The Hospitality and Tourism Administration Department (HADM) is committed to creating and disseminating knowledge through world-class integrated hospitality and tourism management education and research. Our goals are to increase understanding of hospitality and tourism management and identify innovative higher education programs that can ultimately be applied to industries such as hospitality and tourism. We are committed to innovative higher education to develop those students with a long-term goal of becoming outstanding leaders, managers and researchers in industries such as hospitality and tourism in both national and international settings.
The Hospitality and Tourism Administration department is internationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA). The Hospitality and Tourism Administration Department is part of the School of Business, which is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). HADM is the only four-year hospitality management program in the Research Triangle region and is committed to the global community, offering a Bachelor of Science degree and an online Master of Business Administration Hospitality Management concentration to students and industry professionals.
HADM graduates receive solid training in hospitality and tourism management education and innovative learning activities in both face-to-face and online distance education. In addition to the major, HADM facilitates student learning by offering programs such as the following:
- A Hospitality and Tourism Administration minor
- An online MBA Hospitality Management concentration
The Hospitality and Tourism Administration Department creates an environment in which students can develop into independent and creative managers, problem-solvers and global industry leaders. Students have access to a state-of-the-art education; faculty with global industry and research expertise; alumni and industry advisory mentorships and innovative programs, including leadership development through student associations (i.e., National Society of Minority in Hospitality [NSMH], Eta Sigma Delta [ESD] Honor Society); and hands-on internship experiences. Students are well prepared to develop their professional careers or seek advancement in research after completing a degree in hospitality and tourism management sciences.
