Licensure Only Admissions

Materials Required for Licensure-Only Admissions

  1. Completed Application
  2. Completed Transcript Evaluation Request Form
  3. A sealed copy of all official transcripts from any higher education institution (community college, technical, four-year).
  4. Copy of Teaching License (**add-on programs or other programs that require a teaching license**) mailed to contact above.

*A licensure only student is one who is seeking to complete the required course work in order to obtain a clear North Carolina teaching license.
*A lateral entry student is one who is currently working as a head teacher under a provisional license until s/he has completed the course work for a clear North Carolina teaching license. Course work needed is based on the same plan of study as a licensure only student. If the lateral entry student is still teaching during the student teaching phase of the program, the teaching position will apply to student teaching.

**Note: If an individual holds a clear license from another state and is seeking to transfer that license to North Carolina.
**Note: The add-on licensure program is for candidates with a clear North Carolina license seeking to add-on another area of licensure.

  4. A sealed copy of all official transcripts from any higher education institution (community college, technical, four-year) (*if you took college courses).
  5. Official Confidential Statement Form - completed by your school

Degree credit for graduate course work taken as a special student may not be granted, unless the student meets requirements for admission.
