Students' Field Experiences

The field practicum experience provides students with meaningful social work learning experiences within a field agency setting. In the field practicum, students engage in direct, mezzo, and macro interventions with individual, families, communities, and organizations. Students develop and cultivate skills in the following areas: engagement, assessment, interviewing, communication, intervention, termination, documentation, evaluation, program development, policy, intra-agency and inter-agency collaboration, and case management. In short, the field practicum experience provides students with an opportunity to integrate their academic learning in a “hands on” manner.
