Hello Graduating Students,
I want to give you additional information about the Application for Graduation and Academic Approval for Graduation Form. Please pay close attention to the deadline dates. Last year, the Department of Psychology instituted an early, departmental deadline to assist and ensure that graduation application materials were submitted in advance to the Registrar’sOffice. The early deadline was also instituted to help students make sure all graduation requirements were met. For instance, a student does not want to find out he/she is missing a class or 1 credit hour on the application due date – October 8, 2012 by 5:00 pm. Therefore, each student will need to complete the following before or on September 28, 2012:
1) compare your transcript with the academic requirements to earn the degree;
2) contact Ms. Ruby Messick in the Academic Community Service Learning Program to check your community service hours (undergraduates only);
3) make an appointment with your academic advisor before August 23, 2012to review application materials so if a student is missing either a class or credit hour(s), it can be addressed before late registration ends on August 24, 2012; (Note: Late registration and schedule adjustment period (drop/add/section changes) ends at 4 p.m. on 8.24.2012)
4) and complete all forms and obtain your academic advisor's signature before taking the application materials to Dr. Martin.
Again, I will be accepting application materials until September 28, 2012. For the upcoming semester, let's aim for the goal that the Department of Psychology will have all application materials submitted early to the Registrar’sOffice. The early date allows the department to help students solve any issue before the end of late registration (i.e., missing a class or credit hour). This goal would be a great accomplishment for the department. I am excited about the upcoming semester and look forward to seeing the graduating class reach "Destination Graduation" for fall 2012.
All the best with the upcoming semester!
