Requirements for the Master of Arts in Psychology Degree
A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
General Concentration - A minimum of 30 semester hours of psychology courses including: PSYG 5001, 5100, 5121, 5130, 5160, 5161, 5212, 5900 (minimum of 3 semester hours) and 5 elective hours of psychology courses approved by the department.
Clinical Concentration - A minimum of 49 semester hours of graduate psychology courses including: PSYG 5001, 5002, 5011, 5025, 5100, 5121, 5160, 5161, 5170, 5211, 5212, 5300, 5310, 5220 (minimum of 5 semester hours), and 5900 (minimum of 3 semester hours).
Successful completion of a reading proficiency examination in a foreign language, completion of an approved graduate statistics course or proficiency in a modern computer language. If PSYG 5100 is used to meet this requirement in the general concentration, three additional graduate level hours in psychology are required.
Successful completion of a comprehensive written examination.
Successful completion of an oral examination associated with the thesis
