Political Science

Speaking Out

Political science is the study of power.  We offer a unique program that examines how American and global power is organized, but we also explore who benefits from these structures of power and who does not.  We are particularly interested in how power relations have affected, and are affected by, individuals in the Black Diaspora.  We welcome all students who are committed to building a more democratic and just human society.  Our program prepares you to be a leader in government or your community.  It trains you to be a legal advocate for those who need representation in the criminal justice system.  Or we can help you build a career in advancing human rights both in the USA and abroad.
