Clinical Sites

North Carolina Central University currently supports 15 varsity sports teams that operate out of two athletic training rooms, and a football game day athletic training room.  The athletic training rooms are staffed by four certified athletic trainers, one of which has teaching responsibilities in ATEP within the Department of Physical Education and Recreation. 

Athletic Advantage
Provides a clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

Duke Athletics & Athletic Rehabilitation
Duke Athletics provides the ATS with a clinical opportunity in Division IA collegiate athletics with exposure to twenty-six men's & women's sport, upper/lower extremity and equipment intensive sports. 

Duke Orthopedic Sports & General Medicine
Part of Duke University Health Care System including Student Health Services, Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, General Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine.  Experiences may include internal medicine, triage, dermatology, outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, emergency and general medicine and athletic team coverage.  The ATS has the opportunity to observe MDs, PT's PA's and ATC's in these setting.

UNC Hospitals Meadowmont Wellness Center
Meadowmont Wellness Center is a 54,000 square foot, state of the art wellness facility that offers the ATS exposure to lifestyle and wellness initiatives for athletic and general recreational populations. Meadowmont Wellness Center also provides the ATS opportunities to experience Cardiac and Aquatic Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.
