
The mission of the Department of Physics is to recruit and educate for leadership in science, to promote the profession of physics, to advance knowledge in the field of physics, and to serve the scientific and manpower needs of the community and nation. The faculty of the Department of Physics seek to stay abreast of the latest developments both in the subject of physics and in the teaching of physics. We continually strive to enhance the presentation of topics and teaching techniques used by the faculty in order to optimize student learning and improve retention throughout the physics curriculum. All faculty are involved in research and undergraduate research participation by all physics majors is an important goal of the program.
