Teacher Education Program

1.   Complete a minimum of 124 semester hours with a cumulative grade point
      average of 2.0 or higher.  The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU.
2.   Freshman and sophomore years. Complete the General Education Curriculum.

3.   Completion of the following courses:
         POLS   2100 or 2120
         GEOG  1000 or 1100 or 2100
         ECON  1200 or 2000 or 2010
         BIOL   1100 or 1200 or CHEM 1100
4.   History major requirements - complete the following:
             a.  HIST 1100
             b.  HIST 2000 (must be taken in Sophomore year)
             c.  HIST 2210, 2220
             d.  HIST 2890
             e. One course from HIST 4010, 4020, 4040, 4050, 4060, 4070 (must be
                taken senior year)
             f. HIST 4310
             g. 1 year of European history (6 hours)
             h. 1 year of African, African American or Latin American history (6 hours)
             i. At least 3 hours from any other 2000 level undergraduate history
                courses.
5.   Education requirements:
            a.  GPA of 2.5 or higher for admission to teacher education
            b.  EDU 2600, 2800, 3000, 3010, 3020, 3120, 3130, 3150, 3170, 4114,
                4214.  A GPA. of 2.0 or higher is required for the major.
