The Career Management Program is a comprehensive career preparation program whose mission is to develop professionals who will make valuable contributions and succeed in the global marketplace. The program focuses on three key areas of Student Professional Development (SPD):
The program was developed in response to feedback from hiring managers and stakeholders about the importance of communication and interpersonal skills. Their feedback is further supported by surveys conducted by organizations like the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and Accountemps. The survey results consistently rank communication and interpersonal skills as most valuable when interviewing and assessing job applicants.
Student engagement in the program begins during the freshman year and extends to graduation and beyond. SPD is delivered to the students through these four major components:
In addition, students are exposed to the needs of the global marketplace through international study, international service projects, and course requirements.

"The Student Professional Development program helps the students learn and understand that there is more to getting a job than having a high GPA. This program has made NCCU one of the premier business schools. I’ve observed NCCU School of Business graduates in the presence of those from other schools and you can see that confidence. It is not about how students ranked when they entered the program, but how they rank when they leave that is important."

"Over recent years, the NCCU Business School has become a favorite partner. It has become so because of the preparedness of the students for becoming tomorrow’s business and accounting leaders."
"The Student Professional Development series at NCCU helps students polish their soft skills. With confidence, I'm now able to inspire and influence others."
