On behalf of the faculty, staff, students and alumni, I welcome you to NCCU’s Hospitality and Tourism Administration program.  You join a tradition of hospitality educational excellence started by Dr. Beverly Bryant, who 18 years ago, established the first, and still only, hospitality management baccalaureate degree program in North Carolina’s Research Triangle.

Like us, your passion for hospitality and service to others most likely brought you here. Our goals are to help you develop the managerial acumen and skills to leverage that passion toward a satisfying career as an effective and successful hospitality and tourism industry leader, and to maintain and build the value of your degree by continuing to foster the presence and respect of the program and its graduates in the Triangle, the U.S. and beyond.

We believe this is a great time to be in the hospitality and tourism industry, which is among the largest in the U.S., in terms of employment and sales. In the United States, travel and tourism is among the nation’s largest services export industries, and one of America’s largest employers. Food and drink sales of the restaurant industry in the United States exceeds 650 billion U.S. dollars.  Add corporate, educational and healthcare foodservice and hospitality, and we believe the demand for skilled managers and executives in these sectors will only increase. For industry entrepreneurs, a sound hospitality management education can increase the odds of success significantly.

Congratulations on investing in your formal education and professional development. We look forward to serving you.
