Corporate outreach is a key component to the success of North Carolina Central University’s business school. As we strive to provide our corporate partners with their future leaders, we enlist their aid in preparing our students. Here are a few of the ways we do so:
The Board is designed to provide leaders in business, government and education an opportunity to become familiar with North Carolina Central University’s School of Business. Through periodic assessment and evaluation the Board guides the school in creating an enhanced learning environment. In addition to the Board of Visitors, our departments have advisory boards that provide insights into the latest industry trends, internships, externships and curriculum development. Many board members serve as guest lecturers, sharing current industry challenges or leading the class in a case-based discussion.
North Carolina Central University’s MBA program has an outstanding relationship with the Triangle Chapter of the National Black MBA Association. In addition to facilitating student interaction with industry members, NBMBAA has selected North Carolina Central to be the home of one of its first collegiate chapters.
Through our relationships developed by the Board of Visitors and Advisory Boards, the MBA program coordinates on-site visits to local employers known as “Eagle Treks.” The program generally consists of a facility tour and presentations by each of the major departments. Later the students gain insight into culture and career track through panel discussions and one on one conversation. Participating companies include: Lenovo, GlaxoSmithKline and BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina.
