 CIO Summit

Greetings,

Filling the pipeline with the next generation of African-American IT executives is our foremost mission.  Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) and North Carolina Central University (NCCU) are joining forces to help meet our goal through the ITSMF/NCCU CIO Summit on April 9, 2009.  African-American CIOs and CEOs from Fortune 500 companies will host an informative panel discussion and conduct interactive breakout sessions.  You’re invited to attend this unique event that offers three key benefits.  It will:

  • Provide an IT career road map for junior- and senior-level college students in the business and computer science schools at North Carolina Central University, North Carolina A&T State University, Fayetteville State University, St. Augustine’s College, Shaw University, Duke University, North Carolina State University.
  • Offer select high school students, from the Josephine Dobbs Clement Early College High School and Hillside Business & Finance Academy, exposure to career options within information technology.
  • Raise funds and awareness for the North Carolina Central University Computer Information Systems Endowment Fund.

To make this event a success, we need your financial support.  As a sponsor of this event, you join ITSMF and NCCU in preparing young African-Americans to excel in IT careers.

ITSMF is the only national organization dedicated exclusively to cultivating executive talent among African-American IT professionals; preparing individuals for senior-level responsibility through executive career development, mentoring, and networking opportunities.

NCCU is a comprehensive institution, which offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 100 fields of study and awards graduate degrees in an estimated 40 disciplines. The university has a state-of-the-art biotechnology research institute, which collaborates with pharmacy and biotech companies in the neighboring and much-touted Research Triangle Park. Programs that are attracting students to NCCU include the Institute for Homeland Security and Workforce Development, biomanufacturing, nursing, education, law, business and hospitality and tourism.

The following pages provide information about sponsorship levels and an agenda for the event.
