USDA GIS Internship Opportunities for Students

Erika Cohen and Jennifer Moore Myers from the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) in Raleigh came to the NCCU campus on Wednesday, March 21st, to talk about GIS internship opportunities for students.  They work for the Threat Assessment Center (http://www.forestthreats.org/), which focuses on performing analysis related to anything from environmental stress and flooding to invasive species at a variety of different scales.

In cooperation with NCCU, the USDA will once again be offering internship opportunities for NCCU students.  These paid internships run from early June through early August.  Last year, NCCU undergraduate student Steidrick Baker worked to generate land cover data for the various watersheds in North Carolina.  This summer’s work will support the many projects that the USDA performs.

Please contact Dr. Mulrooney or Dr. Vlahovic if you would like to apply for this internship.
