English Language Development Certificate
The Department of English and Mass Communication at North Carolina Central University is enrolling students into its certificate program.

The Certificate in English Language Development was created for non-native English speakers who wish to improve their English language skills. ELD courses are designed for high-intermediate or advanced English language learners who need to improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in order to continue academic study at an undergraduate level or to develop professional competencies.

We offer two types of certificates:

Non-Credit Certificate Option

  • 4 Courses
  • Informal admissions process
  • Reasonable cost, $125 for Fall ENG 1010 course

Academic Credit Certificate Option

  • 5 Courses
  • Official student status
  • College credit and university transcript
