Heavy water can reduce heat flow in regular water by more than 1000%. It can also block the development and the vertical movement of isothermal lines in cooling-confined columns of water. The width of the lines is typically less than 1 cm, with up to a 3 degree Celsius thermal gradient across the lines. The data obtained also raise serious questions about the claim of new phase transitions in water made by S. Esposito et al.
