The goal of this subproject is to develop experimental techniques that can be used to produce nanoscale materials that possess calculated properties (through the methods described above) that are of scientific or technological interest.

Findings
The regeneratively amplified Ti:Al2O3 laser system used in these experiments can be configured to produce pulses with widths of 40 fs or 2 ps, providing an opportunity to study the effects of pulse width on QD height.
