
The Freshman Class Council’s goal is to prepare students to fulfill the requirements of the University College upon the completion of their sophomore year and the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency Test. The Freshman Class Council is implementing the “The Stay in the Game” Initiative” with a goal to assist Freshman with attaining academic success. Some ways to achieve this goal will be to:
- Partner with Academic Advising to set up more tutoring opportunities for freshman and transfer freshman.
- Get students to use the resources of the James E. Shepard Library.

The Sophomore Class Council is committed to building their class academically and professionally. They will host programs and provide services for students that will assist with increasing the Sophomore Class GPA and prepare for future career placement.

The Junior Class Council has taken on the initiative of developing its class and preparing students for life after college. They are providing programs and services that will assist students with identifying internships and taking the necessary steps for graduate school preparation and career placement. Some initiatives planned to achieve these goals include:
- Contacting different organizations and companies to come to North Carolina Central University to showcase their employment and internship opportunities to our students.
- Contact Career Services to collaborate on programs and services that can support the Junior Class.

The Finance division oversees the SGA budget and assists other divisions on using funds appropriately to implement effective programming and provide useful resources for the student body. This division is currently working on an in implementing the ”Project Bull City-Eagle” Initiative which strives to better the relationship between the Durham businesses, Downtown Durham, Inc., The Durham Chamber of Commerce and North Carolina Central University. In addition to this initiative, the division of Finance is working on bringing greater awareness to student entrepreneurship on our campus and increase the transparency for financial allocations associated with Student Government.
