The Department


The Purchasing Department of North Carolina Central University operates under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Financial Affairs. The Purchasing Staff is comprised of the Director of Purchasing, a team of professional buyers and a support staff.

The Purchasing Department hours are from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding University holidays.

North Carolina Central University is bound by the contracts negotiated by the Purchase and Contract Division of the North Carolina Department of Administration, as with all State agencies. The Purchasing Department is responsible for making all purchases contract entered info for the University. The procurement needs of the University require the services of several Purchasing Agents who are assigned specific departments. This provides each of the departments with one personal buyer to contact for all of their purchase requirements and or questions.
