The Comprehensive Academic Support Center


The members of the Comprehensive Academic Support Center (ASC) take this opportunity to welcome you to North Carolina Central University.  This is the beginning of a new experience for you in your pursuit of a higher education.  It is our intent to assist you in this by studygiving you special services which will make your transition to college life an eventful and successful one.  While we will do all that we can to make your stay at North Carolina Central a success, much of the responsibility rests with you, the student.  You must accept the responsibility of following the plan which will be laid out for you.

In keeping with the mission of the University ASC has been developed to assist, support, and provide students with an opportunity to achieve maximum success during their matriculation.  The Center focuses on the enhancement of student potential through tutorial assistance, counseling, individual and group study sessions, workshops on test-taking skills, stress management, time management, computer skills, how to study programs, curriculum monitoring and other developmental skills.

The Center strives for positive image through the use of a “hands on approach,” to improve academic skills.  This approach instills a sense of pride and responsibility to maintain satisfactory progress, with the ultimate goal of graduation from North Carolina Central in a timely manner.
