The Mission

The Institute for Homeland Security and Workforce Development's mission is to become a preeminent research and academic institution by providing quality training that keeps communities at the ready, educating future global leaders, and engaging in ongoing research that improves the emergency preparedness levels of organizations throughout the world.

  • 2007 Homeland Security concentration added to NCCU Criminal Justice major
  • 2007 Federal Law Enforcement & the Private Sector: Information Sharing in the War Against Transitional Terrorism Workshop
  • 2008 Engaging Minority Communities in Securing Our Nation Colloquium (Sponsored by U.S. Army War College)
  • 2008 Hosted Event Security Planning for Law Enforcement Professionals (Sponsored by Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium)
